Appearance: Skye's typical of what most people expect of a young Japanese woman. Very long black hair, generally kept in a ponytail during classes, but with big blue eyes inherited from her mother's side, showing the English side of her heritage. She has a slender figure from the amount of dance practise she has had to do. About 5"6", so not exactly the tallest or the shortest girl in the class.
Skye looks her age, but can pass for younger or older with the right makeup and costume. The only thing that seems to let her down on the performance front seems to be her thick Japanese accent, which, even after 5 years of living in England, she has been unable to drop.
Personality: She can be quite quiet, but is very bubbly in the right company. In class, she's always willing to take part even if it's going to make her look stupid. She's always had her heart set on being a performer, and knows how hard she'll have to work in order to get there so will always pay attention in class.
Despite being such a good student, Skye's not afraid to argue with a teacher when she feels they're in the wrong - something that has got her into trouble more than once. She is also funny about having anybody lift or kiss her, particularly if she doesn't know them or doesn't think that they are capable of supporting her properly.
History: Following her mother's death shortly after Skye's birth, Skye was raised by her Japanese father in a rural village near Kyoto (Japan). From a very early age, her father would take her into the city with him every week when delivering the goods from his fishing company to the sushi bars around the Gion district. It was during one of these visits that Skye first decided to become a performer, after watching some apprentice Geisha practising their dancing skills.
She then, at the age of 5, began to take dance classes in the city every Saturday while her father was making his deliveries. It was only when she turned 11 that she had to stop the lessons after her father died following the sinking of his fishing boat.
Having no other living relatives in Japan, she was forced to move to London to live with her English grandmother. Here she was home-schooled for 5 years, regularly being given lessons in English until she could speak fluently. It was only after she had proved herself capable of understanding English speaking students that her Grandmother allowed her to formally begin classes at Finesse, the local performing arts school.
Roleplay Sample: <Karma settles back into her old corner at the far end of the library. She had thought last term that there would be an end to her feeling like an outcast and being alone, but Hermione had wrecked that for her. When she'd be forced to go back to the Grangers' for the summer, then been invited back by her adoptive mother for Christmas, both she and her ex had just sat there and pretended nothing had happened. They wouldn't have understood anyway - not that their daughter and their adoptive daughter had been together, engaged and then suddenly split up when Hermione had poisoned - an nearly killed - one of Karma's fellow students.
Karma sighs, shaking her head to rid herself of the thoughts. This was another reason she didn't want to be alone - Hermione always seemed to creep back into her thoughts, and the crazy thing was, Karma didn't even know whether she loved or hated her.>
