FINESSE SCHOOL OF THE ARTS, LONDON
Ten years ago, an old billionaire died, leaving his money and properties to various charities. One of these was the Foxton Foundation, a charity set up to help underprivileged arts students to attend specialist schools. The building left to the foundation was a five-star hotel, which they have partially converted into a boarding school. Students from all over the world attend to study. The subjects available are: acting, alternative health, art, dance, film, musical theatre, music, photography, stage tech, writing. The Foundation still help out with the school. As the fees are quite expensive, they offer full scholarships to students who pass the audition and who would not otherwise be able to attend.
What makes this school special, I hear you ask. Well, for a start, it is in Central London, just two streets away from Hyde Park - a somewhat unusual location for a school. Also, unlike other specialist schools where students take only their major, students here can take a major and two minors, giving them a chance to learn a wide range of skills. Because of the wide range of nationalities there are many opportunities for them to grow socially and culturally. But, ignoring those factors for one moment, it is a high school and therefore prone to all the usual dramas and issues. What will your part in all of this be?
